POKEMON XY FURIOUS FISTS is the latest set of cards for players and collectors of this surprisingly long lasting
TCG (Trading Card Game). Pokemon XY Furious Fists is publicly launched on 13th August. Just how popular is the
Pokemon TCG ? That is a question asked by gamers all over the world. The answer can probably be found in the fact
that over 21 billion Pokemon cards have been purchased since it begun in 1996. This has to make it very close to being
the most popular TCG ever published. Magic the Gathering has 4 years on it, if memory serves, but whether MtG has
sustained the sales per new release that Pokemon has is debateable.

This new set introduces the Mega Evolution Pokemon who can be expand the previous most powerful EX cards.

The XY Furious Fists expansion introduces 5 new EX cards and four new EX rare Ultra cards. When building
your deck remember that Mega Evolution cards with the same name as EX cards are not the same card and thus
you can have up to 4 of each if you wish (Mega Evolution EX and EX cards) in your deck. Choose wisely as these
cards can be the ones that win or lose the battle for you. Play them at just the right time and they are explosive, but
play Mega Evolution cards too soon, which is easy to do as you cannot help getting a twinge of electric excitement
when you first draw one, and you blow their power and leave yourself open to unstoppable damage.

There are two new preconstructed theme decks which have been especially created and built for new or experienced
players to learn the basic and then the best ways to play Pokemon. These decks are ENCHANTED ECHO which
features the character Sylveon, and DARK HAMMER with Pangoro as the main character. Each deck has 60 cards
and you can see from the back of the plastic bubble packed box exactly which cards you will be getting as they are
clearly listed. The only bit of information not given in these lists is that one of the main character cards (there are 2
in each deck) is a Foil card.

Each deck comes complete with the aforementioned 60 cards (if you buy 2 of the same theme deck you will get
exact replicas), a "metallic" (I'm pretty sure it's plastic) coin, a 2-player play mat, a checklist for the complete
Furious Fists collection, a sheet of damage counters and blown plastic packaging that can be used (is designed
to be used) as a deck box. Personally I wouldn't carry my cards around in these boxes as they are of the type of
clear plastic that some items are bubble-wrapped in, you know the sort - parts of the design pop into each other
and hold together. It is better to keep your decks in the card boxes and if you purchase any Booster packs it is a
good idea to look for sturdier metal, plastic or even card boxes that can carry 80-90 cards or 60-70 cards and the
playmat - you can almost certainly (okay I can't guarentee it) purchase these from where you buy your cards.

There are 18 new Trainer cards including rare Ultra trainer card like Korrina, who is apparently a gym leader
in the Pokemon video games (there are 2 Korrina cards in the Dark Hammer theme deck) and Focus Sash (Booster
packs only). Lastly, as far as the new cards go, there are new Fossil Pokemon from the Kalos region: Tyrunt,
Tyrantrum, Amaura, Aurorus debut  in this expansion, but not in the theme decks, only in the 10 card boosters.

Each Theme Deck and Booster pack contains a code that provides you with the opportunity to play Pokemon on
your home computer. Click here to go to the Pokemon online site.

I opened two Booster Packs of 10 cards each for XY Furious Fists. Each of these Boosters gave up two special
cards one of which wasn't in the 10 card count. This card is the Play Online card which gives you a free Booster
pack when you register and log in to your account and then either type in the code given or hold it up to a connected
web cam and let technology take over. Unlike the online decks, you do not get exactly the same cards in an Online
Booster as are in the physical Booster pack.

The other card yielded by each pack is a collectible Foil card, in these Boosters I received a Stage 1 Beartic and
a Basic Gothita. Amongst the other cards, the Booster also gave me a Basic Pikachu, everyone's favourite or at
least the best known of all the Pokemon characters.

The Pokemon online website has a great FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section which is spread over 3 pages.
Each of these has a series of Questions which when you click the cursor on them opens another page of clarified

The Pokemon Trading Card Game has been a fun game for around 18 years. This expansion brings over 100 new
cards into play. Pokemon is often played in tournaments which are age grouped Juniors, Seniors and Masters.
Although 7 year olds can play with adult assistance, probably the best starter age for playing without assistance
is about 8 years old. Pokemon is a great social and community game for all ages of players who enjoy the video
games on which it is based. It continues to grow and expand regularly with sets like XY FURIOUS FISTS that
add new cards and new challenges to the game without really changing the basic rules of play.
