Orconomics 2nd Edition, the cut-throat economic board game with Orc entrepreneurs, is now live on Kickstarter

Ares Games and Igrology launch a crowdfunding campaign for the board game that brings the chaotic economic world of modern Orcs to the gaming table

Orconomics 2nd Edition, a cut-throat economic boardgame designed and developed by Economicus LTD and Igrology, produced by Ares Games, is launching today on Kickstarter, with an initial funding goal of $10,000. The campaign will run until March 12th, and the game is due to release in December 2021 in two languages: English and French, in partnership with Bragelonne Games. Watch the trailer video.

Orconomics 2nd Edition is a game for two to five players that recreate the chaotic economic world of modern Orcs on the gaming table. Backstabbing, ripping off opponents, taking away their industries - all is legit to get to the top of the Orc jet-set.

Players compete to establish companies in ten different industrial sectors. Each sector generates income or losses, and grants players abilities that can be used during the game. To win the game, a player needs to be the first to found 10 companies on the game board or sometimes even less if they successfully fulfill some business quests of Greed, Rage or Dare.

Orconomics was first published in 2018 in Russia, and the Second Edition will improve the game experience with the quest system that introduces a new victory condition, influence cards for sector abilities, and completely new startup mechanics.

The game can also be tried in a digital version available on Tabletopia, and the beta rulebook is available for download.

The Orconomics 2nd Edition Kickstarter project offers only one Pledge Level at $49 for one copy of the exclusive Premium Edition of the game, including all unlocked stretch goals. The suggested retail price of the regular edition (not including the premium contents) will be around $45. Retailers interested on getting the game are invited to contact Ares Games for pledges.

The contents of Orconomics 2nd Edition include the game board, 50 Company tokens, 40 Industry cards, 16 Quest cards, 80 Skulls tokens (30 Gold and 50 Silver), 5 Player reference cards, 2 Forecast dice and 3 tokens – Crisis, Activity, and Oracle. The Kickstarter’s Premium Edition will feature 50 Orc corporate building miniatures, in five colors, and all stretch goals unlocked during the campaign.

The project will present funding goals for the most important funding milestones, and a series of daily missions related to social goals, unlocking a lot of new content The first mission is to reach 1,000 followers on Facebook, which will unlock the “TechnORCracy” mini-expansion, featuring one government tile, two dice and rules.

Orconomics 2nd Edition is expected to ship to backers in December 2021 from Ares Games’ main warehouse in the USA and from secondary warehouses in Australia, Canada, Germany, and China. No customs charges will apply to backers in Australia, Canada, EU, China and other Asia-Pacific countries, or the US.

This is the 13th project of Ares Games on Kickstarter, and 10 of them were already delivered successfully (Sails of Glory, Galaxy Defenders - Season 1 and Season 2, Age of Conan - Adventures in Hyboria, Wings of Glory - Giants of the Sky, Dungeon Time, Sword & Sorcery Immortal Souls, Divinity Derby, Master of the Galaxy, Tripods & Triplanes) with very positive feedback from the backers. The latest two projects, Sword & Sorcery Ancient Chronicles and Masters of the Night, are now on the way to Ares’ warehouses and are due to deliver to backers in March 2021.
