REVIEW:
This is a fun, brilliantly animated, adventure game in the visual style of the excellent Monkey Island series, at least it's that type of game. Answer and ask questions, point and click for action, click and drag for movement (or use WASD), Space Bar to Jump, and right click on items in your inventory to activate/use them.

You begin with Amanda on a Smugglers ship. She is stuck behind the mast being pinned down by a number of smugglers/pirates. Luckily they are bad shots and have also positioned themselves in places where Amanda can use her rifle to good effect. Naturally she cannot simply shoot them, that would be poor sport. So you have to look about you and see where a well aimed shot (you get a sight reticule when you click on the rifle - top left of screen) will give you the necessary advantage. There are some cannon balls, whiskey barrel and fireworks that all look possibilities, and is that a fuse ready to fire one of the cannons ?

As soon as you have dealt with the smugglers and Amanda is free to roam you cut to a scene where a heavily bearded Jack comes into the game by being thrown into a filthy looking prison. Here Jack learns of the Akumba, the Eye of Fate artifact from the Shgaman. It is a very valuable treasure but also extremely cursed. Jack soon learns a valuable lesson and wakes in his subconscious, clean shaven and ready for action, just in time to see the Shaman fall dead.......   Time to escape, but how ?

Without giving too much away it's difficult to tell you much more about this game. As I said previously it is very much like the Monkey Island games with the exception of the speech, instead of asking and answering riddles you get further along by asking and answering questions. The interaction with NPCs is good, a little tedious if you make it so by continually asking the wrong question - if you ask the question twice, whether it be to an NPC or by way of attempting to use or activate and item or join items together, and get the same answer each time then either you are not asking the right question (there is usually a menu of questions to ask) or you need to do something else before you can do what is obvious to you as a person but not you as a cartoon animation in an adventure game. Example, to clean a piece of metal you use a pillow dipped in soup (makes perfect sense to me) but everytime you try to interact the pillow and the soup it will not work. Figure out how to use the soup/pillow combination and you are soon on your way to the next series of puzzles.

Puzzles! Yes the game revolves around puzzle solving. You can generally, or at least quite often, see what you are meant to do so it is just a matter of finding the correct way to do it according to the game designer's warped sense of humour.

Very enjoyable, totally insane in places, frustrating and annoying in others, a visual splendour and a challenging entertainment.

Available on the PC through Steam and also on Consoles. The review above is from mke playiung it on the PC.
