Become a police officer and enter the rainy, neon-lit streets of Hard City. Stop the evil mastermind Doctor Zero, shoot mutants, rescue civilians, and blast some cool synth music really loud, while driving your Chevrolet. You will be given a whole arsenal of weapons and various items that will help you withstand until reinforcements arrive. Or become Doctor Zero himself, send your minions to the streets of the city, fight the officers, and finally take control of the whole metropolis!
Who will survive on the streets of mayhem?
The game is now live on Kickstarter (https://kck.st/2NGHF83), already halway through the funding goal and included in Kickstarter's Projects We Love. With each Hard Set plege comes also a free Steam key for BeatCop game by 11 bit studios.
Hard City is an asymmetrical semi-cooperative game in which a team of officers plays together against one villain (solo and full co-op currently in development). They use the action point allowance system to perform actions, such as movement, attack, escorting civilians, using equipment, etc. After killing a total of 10 mutants, the whole team levels up and each officer gains an extra skill card. At the officers' disposal is also the unique cutscenes mechanism, Cutscenes are spectacular special actions that can only be used once per game, are drawn each round and form a track in the shape of an actual film tape!
Doctor Zero plays differently and uses Chaos cards, allowing him to spawn new mutants, make moves, attacks and use special actions like Sinister Laughter or Unnatural Strength. The game is scenario-based and forms a complete story, with each Episode (scenario) having unique winning conditions and different versions of setup, including the use of the game box as a playable component and a part of a 3D board.
