Unlook the Loot: The Dwarves launching on Kickstarter
The Dwarves – The Saga by Pegasus Spiele is one of the first Kickstarter projects from Germany – with a very promising start

Friedberg, May 13th 2015: One of the most successful fantasy novel series from Germany is Markus Heitz’s The Dwarves. Since 2012 German-speaking fans of the novels and gamers can become one of the heroic Dwarves themselves: With the cooperative board game The Dwarves by Pegasus Spiele. Though the international gamer community strongly demanded an English version of the multi-award-winning game, the project was not feasible. Kickstarter changed that: Because since earlier this week the leading crowdfunding platform allows for projects from Germany to be offered. One of the first projects from Germany and also a “Kickstarter Staff Pick” is Pegasus Spiele’s The Dwarves – The Saga. Thanks to many backers within the first couple of days, an English version of the game is now within reach – and with it the new Saga Expansion.

The Dwarves: The Board Game is a critically acclaimed cooperative board game, that allows players to slip into the boots of the eponymous heroes. Each player’s character has a unique power and a set of attributes to manage. Together players embark on an adventurous journey to save the Perished Land – Girdlegard – from the evil Orcs, Trolls and Älfar, who threaten to subjugate it.

The Saga Expansion further enhances the gameplay experience with deluxe components for the base game – i.a. bigger game boards and 75 wooden meeples representing the opponents – and new scenarios for the players to master. Following the minimum funding goal, backers are able to unlock even more “loot” like new playing characters, a 60 page artbook with the award winning game graphics and other surprises by aiming for the stretch goals.

The Kickstarter project The Dwarves – The Saga by Pegasus Spiele ends June 14th 2015. The minimum funding goal is 30.000€.
