Neverwinter Reveals the Devils of Helms Hold with new Trailer and Screens

Deep within the stronghold of Helm’s Hold, devils and fiendish creatures call it home. How these creatures came about was a mystery for the longest time – until now.

Victims of the tragic Spellplague have openly been accepted into Helm’s Hold because it was a sanctuary and safe haven. They believed they would be treated for their illness and be among equal within Helm’s Hold. However, a horrific truth was discovered after strange creatures, called devils, began making their presence known throughout Helm’s Hold.
The victims soon discovered the town was under the control of a devil-worshipping cult led by their Prophet, a traitorous Succubus called Rohini. Helm’s Hold was no longer a safe harbor. Heroes and heroines of the Forgotten Realms had to band together and stop the cult’s plans, save those it would sacrifice and the holy place they would profane, and slay Rohini and her minions.

As you embark on your adventures through Neverwinter, be extremely wary of these foul creatures. They appear in various manifestations and sizes throughout Helm’s Hold. They are also often accompanied by imps and erinyes, attacking in groups to eliminate reckless adventurers with ease.

They can also be found in the depths of the Lair of the Mad Dragon. This is where the green, and fearfully imposing, dragon known as Chartilifax resides and is charmed by Rohini. To make Helm’s Hold safe again for countless incoming Spellplague victims, brave adventurers must slay the dragon and retrieve one of Rohini’s artifacts, known as the Hex Locus. Only when Rohini is slain will Helm’s Hold find peace and become the sanctuary it once was. Are you brave enough to slay Rohini and her devils?
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS NEVERWINTER REVEALS THE GREAT WEAPON FIGHTER WITH NEW TRAILER AND SCREENS

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have released a new trailer and screens from its highly anticipated upcoming action MMORPG Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter.

About the Great Weapon Fighter
The Great Weapon Fighter needs no tricks or illusions in combat, only the sharpest two-handed weapon to end an encounter. With a never-ending thirst for combat, the Great Weapon Fighter charges into battle at any given opportunity – recklessly at times. Similar to other classes like the Trickster Rogue or Guardian Fighter, the timing of your attacks is essential for any combat situation.

To initiate combat, veterans can lead with Avalanche of Steel or Mighty Leap. Combined with Takedown and Slam, the fighter can slow and keep enemies on the ground with ease. And with incredible closing speed, elite warriors can advantageously use Sprint, by holding the Shift key, to close the gap on enemies attempting to escape. Used in combination with finishing abilities like Punishing Charge or Come and Get It, enemies do not stand a chance while the class is on the hunt.

(Redwood City, CA) April 4, 2013 -- Perfect World Entertainment Inc. and Cryptic Studios are pleased to announce that on April 30, 2013, the free-to-play action MMORPG Dungeons & Dragons® Neverwinter is heading into Open Beta, allowing millions of players unrestricted access to the game world."

"The direct response and support from the Neverwinter community during our Closed Beta Weekends have pushed us to make Neverwinter the best free-to-play MMORPG anyone has yet seen," said Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, Craig Zinkievich. "On April 30, we go into Open Beta. That's when the world we've labored for years to build comes to life -- that's when every gamer can login and play what we've worked so hard to create. We could not be more excited."

Recent winner of MMORPG.com's Most Anticipated Award at PAX East 2013, and recipient of dozens of other awards and much critical acclaim, Neverwinter is Cryptic and Perfect World's proof that Western free-to-play games, when built from the ground up, can compete with even the biggest boxed subscription titles. On April 30, the companies invite all gamers to put that claim to the test. There will be no character wipes or restricted access after the start of Open Beta.

As an added thank you to the committed Founders who have helped make Neverwinter possible, beginning 12:00 p.m. (PDT) on Friday, April 12, Founders will get the first opportunity to experience Neverwinter's professions system as part of a newly added 60-hour Beta Weekend 4. Founding members may simultaneously pursue four different professions: Leadership, Mailsmithing, Platesmithing and Leatherworking.

"We've never been in a better place launching a game," said Jack Emmert, CEO, Cryptic Studios. "While the entire team is focused on launching Neverwinter's Open Beta on April 30, we still wanted to thank those committed Founders who stuck with us. Since the beginning of Neverwinter’s Beta Weekends, our Founders have shown us that Neverwinter offers engaging game mechanics, unique features and a gameplay experience that is parallel to subscription or paid games. They have become our biggest supporters and we wanted to give them Beta Weekend 4 as a token of our appreciation."

About Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter
One hundred years have passed since the Spellplague forever changed the magical and mysterious lands of Faerûn. Mighty empires fell and great cities toppled, leaving only monster-haunted ruins and survivors struggling to rebuild.

The city of Neverwinter, the Jewel of the North, seemed blessed by the gods. While the rest of the Sword Coast was devastated by the event, Neverwinter survived largely intact. But this was only a temporary reprieve from its inevitable doom. Nearly 75 years later, a volcanic eruption rained fire, ash and molten fury upon the city, annihilating everything in its wake.

Today, Neverwinter has restored much of its former glory. Lord Neverember of Waterdeep has taken the city under his protection and put forth a call to all adventurers and heroes of the Savage North to help rebuild Neverwinter in the hopes that one day he can lay claim to her throne and crown. But evil forces conspire in the dark places of the world, seeking to undermine all.
