ACTIVISION Celebrates 50 Years of 007 with the XBOX 360
This is the greatest collection of Bond villainy you could ever imagine. Not only is it a great collection, the game also features an amazing selection of voice talent and a wonderful gallery of faces, buildings and memorable backdrops.
First up we have Daniel Craig in likeness and voice as the man himself, Bond, James Bond. Then it just gets better. Judi Dench (M) Rory Kinnear (Tanner) Michael Lonsdale (Drax) Carey Lowell (Pam Bouvier), Jane Perry (Holly Goodhead) and Toby Stephens (Gustav Graves) all visual likenesses and vocal talent. Other characters are in likeness to more recent film inclusions.
The game itself is a series of missions for Bond where he finds himself in scenes similar to the films and against the villains and henchmen of those super celluloid tales.
The game begins with Bond in several scenes from Goldfinger, including the famous laser between the legs and the attack on Fort Knox.
Success brings Bond into contact with Pussy galore - but more of that later - OHMSS, Moonraker, Licence to Kill, Die Another Day and now either with added content in the game or available by download you get the latest Bond adventure, Skyfall.
Each mission finds Bond with new weapons and new technology. To succeed Bond has to mix stealth with fast accurate shooting and use of Q-technology. Remember to use the scanner to see fingerprints on key pads, but in what order are the numbers used - the game tells you without actually telling you.
Developed by Eurocom the game will be familiar to players of their previous GoldenEye:Reloaded as it uses similar gameplay and driving engine.
Whether it’s the Bond music, the action, the inclusion of so many well known faces and scenes, I can’t explain it, but there is a definite buzz about playing this game.
My only complaint is that there is no controllable save feature - it saves at built-in checkpoints. This is a real pain when you fail a mission and have to start from the last checkpoint, and when you are playing and you need to stop for whatever reason meaning you have to give up on what you have already achieved or continue to play and forego your reason for stopping (and thus upsetting the wife!).
Easy, Normal, Hard, campaign or solo mission, whatever way you play it’s a fun filled action packed adventure
