Rifts® Board Game Kickstarter is currently in a holding pattern.
Here is the official statement from Rogue Heroes.
When I created this game, all I wanted to do was make an amazing board game that shared my love of RIFTS with the fans. And as we all know, RIFTS has a passionate fan base; people who love the setting & characters as much as I do.
When I launched the Kickstarter, I believed that I was ready. But in reading your comments, many of you have raised valid concerns that would only make the game better. And I would like the chance to address those concerns. I want this game to be a huge success, and I believe that many of you do too; so that is why I am going to cancel this Kickstarter.
As many of you have pointed out, other companies have done this and then come back with an improved game/Kickstarter campaign that has gone on to be a huge success. And that is my intention as well; to take a step back, regroup, and address people’s concerns in order to create the best game possible.
I hope that when we do come back, you will be there. Fans of board games like me. Fans of Rifts. Fans of our community. Me and my team truly appreciate your support and concerns that you’ve expressed throughout this campaign. It is our intention to return in kind.
Special thanks to all of the backers, support team, and those who advertised the Rifts Kickstarter, who generously contributed their hard earnings, time, exposure and support.
GGO will keep this page live and keep you informed as to any changes when they occur.

Please tell gamers everywhere about this Kickstarter. If it is a big success, it will be just the start of many Rifts® miniatures board game products coming from Rogue Heroes Publishing.
Rifts® is a popular pen and paper role-playing game that exploded onto the scene in 1990. Its multi-genre blend of science fiction, fantasy and horror set in an alien, post-apocalyptic, future Earth made it an instant hit. An overnight sensation, the initial press run of 10,000 copies sold out in three weeks. The Rifts® RPG has since become known to millions of gamers, spawned more than 90 RPG titles, and has been optioned by Walt Disney Pictures for development into a live action movie by Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Please Support My Rifts® Kickstarter Today,
May 8, at 3:00 PM, the Kickstarter for the Rifts® Board Game went live. For me it is a launch that has been two years in the making and a lot of hard work. But it has been a labor of love and a dream come true.
I’m new to all this and I’m not a master of hype or marketing, so I thought I would just speak from my heart. I’ve been writing sourcebooks and making games freelance for 15 years, now. Writing for Palladium Books was my first paid job in the gaming industry. Kevin Siembieda, the publisher and owner of Palladium, liked my ideas and writing so much, he turned my submission into the first Powers Unlimited® sourcebook and then had me write two more Powers Unlimited sourcebooks and a lot of other things. I couldn’t believe it. I even wrote the Splicers® RPG which has become a cult favorite game world.
More recently, I contributed to rules for Robotech® RPG Tactics and I have been designing games for Upper Deck. As much as I have enjoyed working for good companies like Palladium, Upper Deck, and others, I feel like it is time for me to find a way to make my own miniatures board games and start my company.
Why start with a Rifts® board game? That’s easy. I love Rifts® and have wanted to see a miniatures game for it ever since I started playing it back when it first came out. As much as I like role-playing and all kinds of games, I think I’m a miniatures guy at heart. Man, do I love miniatures. In fact, it is my dream that this Rifts® Board Game Kickstarter is a giant hit, so I can make a bunch of Rifts® games and expansions, with all of it leading up to me doing a Rifts® wargame in the future.
Kevin Siembieda, the publisher of Palladium Books, and I go back a lot of years. He has known about my dreams to start Rogue Heroes and make games full-time, so I don’t think he was surprised when I asked him if I could license Rifts® to make a miniatures board game. I was actually a bit surprised when he said, yes! I mean, I’m just starting out, but he said he had faith in my ability and in my passion for the Rifts® I.P. I already had plans for the game, so the minute he gave me the green light I went home and started the real work on it that afternoon.
Two years later, and here we are. Most of the game is done and I’m ready to launch my Kickstarter for the Rifts® Board Game. Kevin and the guys at Palladium have been there for me, rooting me on and offering suggestions, but the creation of this game from A to Z, has been all me.
Me and my guys. As a miniatures guy, I knew the sculpts had to look great. I wanted to see all the iconic characters I love, and that I know other Rifts® fans love, too. I started working with a great sculptor I had worked with for a few years on some of my own projects, Ben Calvert-Lee, and added other sculptors as we went along. I knew I needed to nail the visual appearance of the characters, and for me, that started with the miniatures. And I wanted people to drool when they saw them.
Next was the artwork, and I tapped a lot of Palladium’s freelancers and have used some of Palladium’s most memorable illustrations. It has been a lot of work, but I’m creating the game I know I would want as a Rifts® fan. Kevin has given me total freedom to create the game I want to see, and has been great on making his artists and artwork available to me. He has provided fast approvals and helpful suggestions, and must like what he sees because he has been nothing but supportive. I’m happy to talk with you to provide more information, and I welcome any and all support you can give me.
Please let your fan base know about my Rifts® miniatures board game and thank you for your time. Carmen Bellaire Game Designer and Publisher RHP To view the Kickstarter: http://kck.st/2pOdMdp RHP email:
