PATHFINDER: KINGMAKER SUCCESSFULLY FUNDED ON KICKSTARTER
Our friends at Owlcat Games are in the final hours of their Kickstarter campaign for the Pathfinder: Kingmaker computer roleplaying game. They've met their funding goal, and have also unlocked a number of stretch goals, including macOS and Linux versions of the game and an additional story chapter. As I write this, a stretch goal to add 3 archetypes to each class in the game is getting closer to realization, and a goal to add a new goblin companion is on deck.
If you'd like to see what the game is really like, narrative designer Chris Avellone and creative director Alexander Mishulin will be playing an early build of the game live on Twitch tonight, July 10, at 9:00 PM Pacific time, at https://www.twitch.tv/
The Pathfinder: Kingmaker Kickstarter ends at 8:59 PM Pacific time on Tuesday, July 11!
I just wanted to tell you that our friends at Owlcat Games have surpassed their $500,000 main funding goal for the Pathfinder: Kingmaker Computer RPG Kickstarter. As I write this, they're at $555,000, with 13 days left to go in their campaign, and they're now providing stretch goals to bring additional features to the game.
They achieved their first stretch goal at $550,000—expanding the camping experience—and have already revealed the next two stretch goals. At $600,000, Owlcat will add the magus character class to the game. At $700,000, they will add a new chapter to the Kingmaker storyline and add macOS and Linux support! And there are more stretch goals planned beyond that. (Hint: The next one involves archetypes...)
Check out the Pathfinder: Kingmaker Kickstarter to learn more about the game. And don't miss the Updates tab! The Owlcats have been providing almost daily updates with in-depth featurettes covering different aspects of the game, such as spells, companion backgrounds, map exploration, character animation, music, designer Chris Avellone's take on expanding the Kingmaker storyline, and so much more!
We have just under two weeks to see how much more content Owlcat can add to the finished game. Join nearly 11,000 other backers for this amazing Pathfinder computer RPG!

Owlcat Games reaches $500,000 Milestone with over 2 weeks to go on its campaign
Moscow, Russia – June 26, 2017 – Developer Owlcat Games gratefully announces it hit a major milestone today, in its crowdfunding campaign for Pathfinder: Kingmaker. cRPG and Pathfinder fans have brought together $500,000 for the very first single-player computer RPG based on the acclaimed Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
Through this success, the veteran team at Owlcat Games, strengthened by Chris Avellone for narrative game design, is assured to take players on an unforgettable tour through the infamous Stolen Lands. Not only are familiar characters and well-known locations revisited, but kingdom founding will now go beyond simple stronghold-building. The campaign made it possible for each kingdom to become a true reflection of player chosen paths which includes option for tyrannical rule, subtle diplomacy or trickery and deceit. Adventurers can carve their own realm from the wilderness when Pathfinder: Kingmaker will be available in the summer of 2018.
"It's a dream come true for us at Owlcat and we are very thankful to see we are not alone in our excitement. We are humbled by the support we have received from all of our backers this early in the campaign and we hope to barrel on through our stretch goals," said Oleg Shpilchevsky, Head of Studio, Owlcat Games. "We hope to include options for setting up camp in cRPG's more adventurous than hitting a ‘rest button’ and we want to welcome the Magus. An extra class choice and unrivaled master of magical melee. We have so many more ideas to make this a game that demonstrates the richness of the Pathfinder universe. With Kickstarter, our only limit is your support and your faith in us.”
Future stretch goals will add archetypes (for all the classes), additional race choices, storyline expansions beyond the initial Adventure Path and more companions, (including a companion that’s dear to hearts of Pathfinder fans). Owlcat Games also wants to include more locations to visit, including an epic dungeon.
